Auce town

Auce Town is situated 100 km from the capital of Latvia Rīga, between Zemgale and Kurzeme in the very south of Latvia only 7 km from the border of Lithuania.

Auce as a populated place began to develop in the end of 19th century.

The rights of Auce town were confirmed on September 11, 1924.

Every year on the last week of July the people of Auce town and its guests can enjoy the festival of the Auce region and the annual brass band concert by Gunārs Ordelovskis wich has become very popular all over Latvia.

Auce town is also know as only town in Latvia wich celebrates Name’s day every year on March 4.
 
Auce town coat of arms is black cancer decorated with golden strings on a red background. It was confirmed on October 31, 1925. The Auce coat of arms is based on the Duke Jacob's merchant flag.
